My SP Avatar
My name is Jon and I’ve been interested in games for as long as I can remember and as such headed into the game industry once I finished school. My formal training is in Computer Science and Math so I do my share of programming but I also dabble in elements of design and production as well. I’ve had the fortune to work on lots of cool stuff including slot machine games, cell phone games and big budget AAA games. I also design and develop my own games among other things which you’ll probably get to here about here. I’m currently in the process of creating an indie game with a buddy of mine, you’ll hear more about that on the blog I bet. Thats enough about me for now I think.

So let me tell you a bit about this blog. This blog was founded to act as a clearing house for all of my crazy ideas about games. Mainly I’ll probably be talking about game design and development with a focus on independent games. I’ll also share with you any other important things I run across that I feel have a tangible use to the art of game development. Other topics such as book reviews on game development books as well as reviews of technologies that are relevant to game development might also show up. I may also discuss some indie games that I find interesting or even some board game (OMG non digital.) You might even stumble across the occasional game review if I find a game that has particularly good (or bad) design elements, but those aren’t the main focus here. Also if I find something thats just too cool to not share you’ll hear about it.

Anyway thanks for visiting Zen and Games and please keep coming back.

If you want to contact me please email me at admin [at] zenandgames [dot] com but if it’s about a particular post leaving a comment on that post may work better as I read them all.

The usual disclaimer here…Any opinions expressed on this blog are just that, opinions. They are also the opinions of whoever wrote them and don’t necessarily reflect the feelings of any organizations that person is associated with past or present. Keep that in mind.
